1:41 pm: I now have ink on all the pages , and one is now finished enough to show you. These are what I think of as rough inks. Almost everything is there; the exceptions are some solid blacks and the final fills that will balance the pattern of light and dark over the page. This is the point where I quit inking and leave the page to dry overnight before I erase out the pencils, make the corrections, and add those final inks. In other words, this page is finished for the purposes of this challenge.
That’s a long-winded way of saying “Here’s page 3.” Since this page had only two small skirt areas, it was a good place to see what the story will look like with the skirt spotted as a big black. I like it, and I’ll eventually fill the rest of them in. For now, you’ll see an x in the skirts on the other pages, which will remind me to ink them in after I erase. (Dragging an eraser through a solid black is a chump’s game.) Anything you see hatched out with a few quick diagonal lines is something I’ve changed my mind about; I’ll remove it inthe correction phase. Note the small changes I’ve made to the script. I’m always finding words I don’t need after I really see the art.
