This is one of the pages I was dreading drawing. The layout was really hard to do , and I wasn’t sure until I had it mostly penciled that I was sure it was going to work. But now I like it a lot. Scenes inside a car are hard to manage, and normally I think the cut-off-the-side-of-the-car technique is kind of a copout. But a standard six door limo, which is basically a large sedan with two back seats, is sort of absurd to start with, and with this crew of weirdos as the driver and passengers, the fact that the layout of one panel isn’t exactly a design novelty is not the first thing on your mind. I think it actually works pretty well.
It occurs to me that the panel in question could be interpreted to be suggesting that Iowa is sitting directly in front of the Professor and is therefore driving from the right hand position. Not that there aren’t right hand drive cars out there, but this isn’t one of them as the panel above makes clear. I think I can fix this without messing anything up. I am also considering shading the seats in the lower panel, but I’m not going to do it until I make a final decision about Iowa’s shirt.
