Here is the very first “real” map of Kekionga and the space around it. It’s simply a more well developed (and inked) version of the final sketch– the map that will appear in Junkyard Moon will be a finished illustration. Think of this as halfway between that illustration and the more true to scale notes I am keeping for my own use so I can answer questions like how long does it take to ride your bike from the Junkyard to get a Prime Lime slushie at Duke’s? (Double lime, double caff– it’s what keeps a superhero flying. And let’s get some teriyaki jerky with that.)
Please click to see a larger version, or even print it if you like– it fits nicely on an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet. I could talk about the map all day, and would be very glad to answer questions or take suggestions and advice.
This is really beautiful! I’ve been toying around with pinning down locales for my own settings (as seen here: http://watusithetalkingdog.wordpress.com/2013/02/05/the-big-picture/), and this is good inspiration– gives details of important elements without becoming too locked down and specific!
