It is a shocking, shocking thought, but it’s at least remotely possible that not everyone reading this is totally, intimately, word for word familiar with every single episode of Monty Python’s Flying Circus.  (I know.  It’s a mind bending concept.  Take a deep breath and try to relax.)  Since the new story references that classic piece of brontosaurus related popular culture, “the Anne Elk sketch”,  I am providing, as a public service, a genuine YouTube link.  Click here to see the sketch.  Yes, I know you can almost certainly  play it to yourself in your head, but it’s always good to see it again, in real time, complete with Graham Chapman’s haircut and John Cleese’s wig and shoes and the Charles Knight illustration and the phone and ashtray on the table.

Love you, Graham.  Miss you.

Heh heh, it was all over the joint when the apato/bronto news broke. I really MUST pull out the box set next time I’m at the worktable in the basement.

    • Pam Bliss says:

I bought my box set at Costco for half price! Oddly, I missed the news when it first came out, but I have been reveling in all the stories I’ve been finding as I research this story. I knew I had to add Anne Elk.

  2. Wolfie says:

I love how Cleese is just sitting there, like a guy, with his legs open.

  3. Pam Bliss says:

Anne Elk is quite a well realized character, considering how briefly we see her.
