fun and games at the drugstore

Humorous social commentary? Minor but effective rebellion against the Man?  Someone a little bored chopping wood and carrying water at the big chain drugstore?  Regardless, since everything’s the same price, there’s no harm done.  And it’s so great to see.

Long live the petty candy display subversion, telling truth to power on a random Saturday morning.

  1. Bucking the system through candy! Hey, it’s the little things, right? 🙂

Exactly. I am totally against most pranks and practical jokes. They tend to be mean spirited, cruel, and destructive. Don’t be unkind, people. Don’t make things worse. Life is too short.

But stuff like this, where the expected is subverted and no harm is done, just people being forced to take a step back and really look at what’s in front of them– that’s the stuff that makes the everyday more interesting.

Today I found three pieces of neon yellow crepe paper crumbled up in a driveway, and tied them in bows around three trees in my friends’ yard. I didn’t take a picture either. That would have ruined it. But if somebody else does, that would be *perfect*.
