porch yarn

A friend of mine is back from a trip that included a yarn dyeing workshop.  We looked at her finished yarn on the porch.

Very cool. I love taking photos of things like bricks and piles of fruit and pebbles on a beach. The yarn photos give me some more ideas…

I like piles of stuff too. I still regret a particular pile of bricks I saw last summer. I photographed it but my skills were not up to my current levels and the images are not as good as they could have been. The secret to this kind of stuff with a phone camera is a tight crop– but not too tight as the one in the middle shows. I really wish you could control the point of focus more tightly with this camera.
