In case anyone was wondering, the drawing of the day project has just entered its eighth year. That’s an inked drawing, simple or elaborate, every single day for seven full years (so far). I wonder if it will make it through another year, and another 4 or 5 sketchbooks? The current volume, just started a few days ago, is number 35.
Since the blog began, I have been sharing a “best of the drawing of the day” image at least once a week, usually on Thursdays. Let’s get back to that, with this image from sketchbook #34. It’s a little science fiction guy (long fingers, skintight and boots, no eyebrows, must be a science fiction guy) in a fancy floating chair as sometimes seen in your classier space operas. Maybe he’s a villian, maybe he’s a prince, maybe he’s a shady character, maybe he’s all three.
I guess I chose this drawing in honor of the new Star Wars movie, which I saw yesterday, and the three attempts I’ve made so far to write a review. Maybe you’ll see that tomorrow.
