coffee around the neighborhood 1

I’ve been forced to admit it even to myself: I’ve gone back to drinking coffee.  In honor of this event, here’s a series of reports about the coffee I’ve drinking around the neighborhood.

First up, $1.38 Target lobby coffee.

Pros:  Decent basic lobby coffee served from insulated carafe.  Reasonably fresh.  Not burnt. Ice conveniently located at nearby soda machine. Large cup only $1.38 including tax, free refills as long as you hang around the snack bar at Target.

Cons:  Basic lobby coffee usually offered free in hotel lobbies, waiting rooms of business establishments and so on.  Paying for it always seems slightly wrong.  Ambiance in snack bar at Target: dull to horrible.

Verdict: Not worth an extra trip, but well worth drinking if you happen to be at Target anyway.  Price is right. Drink up  and collect at least a partial refill, minimizing time in snack bar, then drink the rest of the cup at your leisure while you shop.
