Witness the hood ornament on a 1911 Fiat Tipo 6, photographed at the Pebble Beach Concours D’Elegance in 2015 and circulating around the internet. This is, of course, extremely awesome.
And it raises two questions. One, of course, is why a Native American warrior, instead of the more conventional jockey?
And second, how does one pre WW1 Italian touring car deserve so many amazing accessories?
Check it out: it’s painted bottle green, trimmed out in polished brass, and its horn is a giant dragon-snake thing. Plus the Indian riding a snail. This car sold for $880,000 at the Gooding auction and in my opinion it was worth every penny.
I would be much more likely to buy a new Fiat if it was bottle green with brass trim and cool snails and dragons all over it.
