magic boots

magic boots 1-tweakandresize-blogI was having a weird morning, so I got out a sumi brush and my pint bottle of generic India ink and painted the toes of my gardening boots.  The pattern is the all over spirals I use in my sketchbook to represent magic at work, the boots are a cheap pair I bought at the big box discount store strictly for the yard.

Painting with a sumi brush in thick black ink on super absorbent low quality rough out split leather is not exactly easy, but they came out looking like boots from sketchbook world, which was really the only goal.

I would have to find a more efficient tool–maybe a paint marker would work?

Those boots are missing something….(Snaps fingers) Got it! Those boots need dayglo green or pink laces! Why even a basic black would set them off nicely.
