We’ll get back to Antelopia eventually, but this is a break in the sense of breaking news. The butterflies are back and so is the little bit of luck (and patience on the part of the butterflies) that makes it possible to photograph them with entirely inappropriate camera gear. The season of the Phone Camera Butterflies has begun. This is a Tiger Swallowtail on a honeysuckle hedge.
(These are the first finished shots taken with a new phone camera app, Camera FV5. Full review to follow eventually, but if offers a very entertaining level of manual exposure control. This butterfly was particularly patient and therefore these crops are not nearly as deep as usual.)
