Phone camera under the Lenka black and white camera app.
Even though yesterday was Mischief Goes To Market day, it’s always wise to remember that where the Real Cameras go, the pocket camera goes too. And it’s lovely to be able to take phone camera snapshots in native black and white.
Lenka is a marvelously simple camera, its only tools being sliders for contrast and warm-to-cool tone, a control for setting your own focus point, and a pinch-to-crop feature that allows you to shoot an original square with a gesture.
With a little practice you can start to achieve a real street/documentary look. Free from the Google Play Store, and I think there is a version for you Apple fans as well.
Here’s another version of the same shot cropped slightly in Pixlr.
It’s better composition wise without the cut off edges along the left margin, but I think it suffers in tonal range without the larger dark area in the lower right. Sometimes you can’t win.
